Sour Doe or friendship doe?

Hi. I am getting in to bread baking and I came across what is known as both
sour doe
and
friendship doe.

I was wondering if anyone on here does much with this kind of doe or any kind of bread baking or doe making products made completely or nearly by scratch?

For Those who don't know what sour or friendship doe is...

It is doe that you keep as just a plain doe and you take out a small bit of it to add flower, eggs and such for making breads and other doe things. It is like keeping a living bowl of yeast in your kitchen. It is suppose to be great.

I am making a batch and am excited to see how it turns out.
